Natalie brings a vibrant energy and a wealth of expertise to her role as principal. She is known for her forward-thinking, commercial approach and passion for helping clients protect and enforce their intellectual property rights in New Zealand, Australia and internationally.

Prior to joining Leighton Cassidy Legal, Natalie was a principal at a leading New Zealand intellectual property firm and headed up the firm’s Auckland litigation team.

Natalie advises clients in relation to their intellectual property and commercial requirements. Her expertise spans complex IP enforcement, trade mark filing and prosecution, copyright, border protection, domain name disputes, privacy, advertising, consumer law, commercial advice and disputes resolution.

Natalie has appeared before the District Courts, High Court, Court of Appeal, the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand, and IP Australia. She is also an experienced negotiator, regularly advises on settlement and co-existence agreements, and has attended mediations and arbitrations as both lead and support counsel.

Natalie is recognised in leading legal directories including Best Lawyers New Zealand (Intellectual Property), WTR 1000 (Enforcement & Litigation), and Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal, Trade Marks).

Natalie is a current member of the board of trustees for Bombay School and a previous committee member of IPSANZ and the Auckland Women Lawyers’ Association.
